Our Mission, Vision, and Values

Fewer than 2% of teen mothers earn a college degree before age 30, and more than half of all parenting college students leave school without a degree. We’re committed to changing these statistics
one family and one system at a time.

Our Mission

To ensure all student parents have the opportunities to succeed, experience economic mobility, and build wealth, Generation Hope engages education and policy partners to drive systemic change and provides direct support to teen parents in college as well as their children through holistic, two-generation programming.

Our Vision

All teen parents and student parents, and their children, have every opportunity to succeed and are empowered to create a better future for themselves, our community, and our world.

Our Values

Service

We deliver outstanding, innovative, and people-centered service to ensure all families can pursue their dreams and our various partners can remove barriers to their success.

Abundance

We foster a culture that welcomes, appreciates, respects, and sees potential in all people, knowing that teen parents, student parents, and their children are too often judged and stigmatized.

Family

We believe in the power of community, collaboration, and belonging, and we support, sustain, and celebrate family in all its forms.

Racial Equity

We work to eliminate racial barriers and discrimination that are historical and current drivers of poverty and oppression, creating a world where all families are truly free.

Education

We understand that learning, growth, and development lead to a future of endless possibilities.

“We don’t have to wonder about whether or not what we do makes a difference. The tangible impact of our mission is clear.”
