Your efforts and dedication will have a lasting impact on our Scholars, their families, and our communities.
In addition to emotional support, the Generation Hope Sponsorship includes a financial contribution that goes directly toward the Scholar’s tuition.
Sponsorship levels are:
Sponsors full or partial tuition for a Generation Hope Scholar attending a four-year college
Sponsors full or partial tuition for a Generation Hope Scholar attending a two-year college
Process for becoming a Generation Hope Sponsor:
- Complete application
- Complete online background investigation
- Meet with GH staff
- Complete mandatory mentor training in July 2013
Questions? Please contact Caroline Griswold, Program Intern, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (202) 642-5649.
How do you match Sponsors with Scholars? Is it on a first-come, first-served basis?
Generation Hope does not match Sponsors and Scholars on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, pairs are made based on preferences, similar backgrounds, and common interests. Research shows that matches based on this system are more successful.
Do I make my payment to Generation Hope or to the Scholar's school?
Payments are made to Generation Hope. Generation Hope then distributes the funds to the Scholar's school.
Where do you find Scholars?
Scholars are referred to our program by area high schools, other nonprofits, community groups, churches, agencies, and word of mouth. Scholars may also find out about our program through the Financial Aid Offices of their colleges or universities.
